Implant Restoration
Implants involve many different steps. Your first step will be visiting an oral surgeon where it will be determined if you are a candidate. If you are an implant will be placed. After the impant has healed and tested (about 6 months) you will visit our office. We will take an impression of the implant that will allow us to order your custom abutment, this takes about 2 weeks from order to fabrication. Once we have the part you will be contacted and we will bring you in to restore the implant. Take a look at the Cerec Technology link in the top tabs to see how this is done. Approximate time: 2 hours
White Fillings
We use a composite resin (white material) that is an aesthetic alternative to silver fillings. The first step in this procedure is to remove the area of decay. We put a bonding agent on the tooth and the composite is place. The end result is a natural looking filling. Approximate time: 45 minutes
Cleanings and Exams
Dental cleanings by a registered dental hygienist are vital to your well-being. During each cleaning the hygienist will remove tarter, remove plaque and polish your teeth. After each cleaning (twice a year) Dr. Taoka will exam your teeth and xrays, checking for oral cancer, periodontal disease and cavities. Approximate time: 45 minutes
Sealants
Sealants are a coating of material that protect the molars and premolars. Sealants are generally done on children under the age of 18 and can last many years. During each cleaning they will be checked for chipping and wear.
Fluoride Varnish
Fluoride varnish is generally recommended to help prevent tooth decay. Fluoride strengthens the teeth and are suggested up to two times a year for children.
X-Rays
Radiographs are the single most important diagnostic tool available. They provide valuable information about your teeth that can not be seen by the naked eye. Without xrays problems can go undetected for many years until it is too late. The amount of radiation exposure from a full mouth series of x-rays is equal to the amount a person receives in a single day from natural sources. They are taken yearly to ensure that we are providing you with proper diagnostic information.
Advanced Tooth Whitening System
We make custom fitted trays and treat your teeth using a take-home whitening system. Your teeth will look 2-3 shades lighter than before. Whitening gel is then supplied to you by our office for treatment at home. The gel whitens the discolorations in the enamel of your teeth. The discolorations due to age, coffee, red wine, cigarettes, some medications and colored foods usually are easily removed with the whitening system.

Dentures
We make dentures and partial dentures to fit your needs. This process involves a few appointments as we use our labs to fabricate them. Beautiful results from the lab will give you something to smile about!
Custom-fitted Mouth Guards
Custom-fitted mouth protectors are made by Dr. Taoka, for you personally. They are more expensive than the other versions but because they are customized they can offer a better fit than anything you can buy off the shelf. Anyone who participates in a sport that carries a significant risk of injury should wear a mouth protector. This includes a wide range of sports like football, hockey, basketball, baseball, gymnastics, and volleyball. Mouth protectors, which typically cover the upper teeth, can cushion a blow to the face, minimizing the risk of broken teeth and injuries to the soft tissues of the mouth.
Night Guards
Bruxism is a condition of teeth grinding and or clenching, often occurring in your sleep. This can cause dull headaches and a painful jaw. Dr. Taoka can make a custom night guard that will protect your teeth at night. These night guards are an easy appointment, 15 minutes and you are on your way home. You can expect your night guard to be ready for you the next day.
